The Violets - The Lost Pages

The debut long player by elemental punk delicateers The Violets is now in all good record shops, and is also available online here and from iTunes….

here is what some people think about the album:

The Violets signal the death of disco-punk - 9/10 - VICE

An inimitable cacophany of noise and melody - i-D

The Violets bring some much needed zip and style to the London music scene. This should catch the ear of those looking to inject a bit of life into their record collections.. - ***1/2 - The Sun

Not cool - NME

A refreshingly unorthodox debut, a dark unpredictability infects these feverish songs - 3/5 - Metro

A band capable of transcending any genre, barrier or influence. - Artrocker

A gratifying edginess - 7/10 - Rock Sound

Juicy musical filth - Disorder

Mallet fingered/Excellent - The Guardian

Energetic and addictive guitar pop. Truly promising - 3.5/5 - The Fly

Better than most punk laydees attempts from the '70s.
A masterclass in gnarly girl rock. - Daily Star

An articulate, solid debut that holds your attention from start to finish - Clash

Classic underground art-punk - 8/10 - Loud & Quiet

ennuis de keneat par les violettes

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

On Monday 15th October, The Violets latest and greatest single 'Troubles Of Keneat' will be released into the world/wild. It is the sound of a band who are capable of taking on many forms and is the perfect teaser for their forthcoming long-player, 'The Lost Pages', due out on November the 5th. Remember.
Giving a nod to the sound of French Coldwave, Troubles Of Keneat is a frenzy of white noise fractured by shards of melody; existing as much for the dancehall as the underworld. Enjoy.

Unable to release on celluloid, you can buy it on 7″ and digital download formats b/w Feast On You…

Specialists

Domino are pleased to announce that we will now be working ‘by special arrangement’ with Angular Records of London, and the forthcoming album from These New Puritans will bear the first fruits of this special arrangement.

Angular Records have been friends of the label for a while now, and we are extremely happy to be working with them on one of the most exciting and genuinely unique new bands around.

Comprising of four nineteen year olds, Jack Barnett, his twin brother George Barnett, Tomas Hein and Sophie Sleigh-Johnson, Southend combo These New Puritans formed back in 2005. Rising to underground prominence in early 2007 through their extreme and powerful live performances, striking image and inspired lyrics, the band have swiftly built an obsessive fan base around the UK and Europe.

Having picked up many fans at Domino, we are happy to announce that These New Puritans will release their debut album, ‘Beat Pyramid’ on 5th November this year through Angular Records in the UK and then internationally through Domino International. It will be proceeded in the UK by Double A sided single ‘Colours’/'Numbers’ on the 15th October.” (From dominorecordco.com)
